A Tattered Page | Good Omens (The Beginning)

Good evening everyone! Guess what time it is! It's time to read a book! I know what you are thinking - stop groaning! A Tattered Page (ATP) is my favorite event and it is back for round four!  ATP is  a quarterly Second Life Event based on a different book each round. A real book...not a movie! The book is used for inspiration, everyone involved has to read the story and interpret it with their designs/blog posts.The exclusive items designed by the participating designers will be available at their stores and the ATP Library until July 31.

This round is centered around Good Omens: The Nice and Accurate Prophecies of Agnes Nutter, Witch by Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman. The book is a satire of the birth of the son of Satan and the end of the world. It follows the two awkward heroes; Aziraphale (a angel) and Crowley (a demon) as they attempt to stop the eradication of the human race because they have grown rather fond of living among them. I will have to admit the book is somewhat hard to follow occasionally and I did have to go back and re-read some sections several times to clear up my confusion as it moves very fast. But I found the book to be a real delight to read. I loved the satirical twist to the tale and how well the characters all tied in together. So much so, my family hates the book because I wouldn't shut up telling them what was happening or reading snippets to them over dinner.

Yes,” said the angel, whose name was Aziraphale. “I think it was a bit of an overreaction, to be honest,” said the serpent. “I mean, first offense and everything. I can’t see what’s so bad about knowing the difference between good and evil, anyway.” “It must be bad,” reasoned Aziraphale , in the slightly concerned tones of one who can’t see it either, and is worrying about it, “otherwise you wouldn’t have been involved.”

The story starts before there was even rain! We are introduced to the two main characters right after humans are expelled from the Garden of Eden. They are discussing the incident, where Crowley had tricked Eve into taking the apple. Right off the tone is set for the book, even through adversarial in nature, the two main characters are in fact very amicable toward each other. I related their relationship to a couple of co-workers who have worked together for quite a long time, who don't quite like how things work but know they can't really change anything so they just go with the flow. They do what they can to make things better, while furtively looking over their shoulders hoping the bending of the rules won't be noticed.

This pretty short hair style worn by both avatars is actually a woman's hairstyle that I enlarged to fit a male avatars. It is very easy to re-size and is un-rigged so you can move it for the perfect fit. It comes with six color HUDs with 20 color shades in each.

Poses for this post were:

Black Tulip has created two original pose sets for ATP. I used the Human Beings #1 pose set (L$175) in the first photo. It includes mirrored poses. Black Tulip has a very large variety of poses for men and women, couples and singles, along with full perm mesh home designs. oh and I adjusted the pose slightly for a man's size using my Animare Pose System (L$299).

In the second photo, I used one of my own poses. This is more of a teaser as I do not have these out for sale yet. I am still working on getting my shop up and running.
