A Tattered Page | Agnes Nutter

Good evening everyone! I have another fun post featuring A Tattered Page (ATP). It is now on its fourth round! ATP is a quarterly Second Life Event based on a different book each round. A real book...not a movie! The book is used for inspiration, everyone involved has to read the story and interpret it with their designs/blog posts.The exclusive items designed by the participating designers will be available at their stores and the ATP Library until July 31.

The Last Surviving Copy of the Nice and Accurate Prophecies by Agnes Nutter.

This round is centered around Good Omens: The Nice and Accurate Prophecies of Agnes Nutter, Witch by Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman. The book is a satire of the birth of the son of Satan and the end of the world. It follows the two awkward heroes; Aziraphale (an angel and part-time rare book dealer) and Crowley (an Angel who did not so much Fall as Saunter Vaguely Downwards) as they attempt to stop the eradication of the human race because they have grown rather fond of living among them.

Agnes Nutter, a prophetess

 The story is guided by the words of Agnes Nutter, a prophetess. The only prophet in the history of mankind who actually prophesied the future of the human race, published it to share with the world, and was totally ignored. All other copies of the book having mysteriously disappearing.  Well she didn't really publish it for the world to read. She did it for her family, she needed the free authors copy, which she kept to pass down her family line so they would be prepared for what the future holds. She did this because she foretold her own death. 

The Last True Witch in England.

The manner of Agnes Nutter’s death was quite explosive and was one of the last of the witch-burnings in England. As she knew already the date of her death, she was not surprised when the mob appeared at her doorstep ten minutes late. To their surprise they found her waiting, coat on, impatient. She remonstrated them for being late and shuffled slowly through the astounded crowd to the pyre in the village square, climbed awkwardly to the top and chided them for not following to tie her up. Telling them to get on with it. As they tied her she bid the whole town to move closer so they can see the last true witch in England die and so that they might reap what they deserve for meddling in what they did not understand. She then smiled and bid to the sky to do the same before she fell silent and let them gag her. All gathered close to watch as the flame was lit and a few minutes later an explosion took out the village square and all the villagers with-in watching the burning. It would seem that in knowing the time and manner of your death you can prepare quite well. Agnes Nutter had packed her petticoats full of 80 pounds of gunpowder and 40 pounds of nails - quite explosive I would say indeed.

✫ Garden of Dreams | The Library - Dream Scene Skybox | L$2,000

All furnishing except for the The Book of Accurate Prophecies is part of the Garden of Dreams Library module. The Garden of Dreams is the creator of the "Dream Scene" It is a portable system for your very own hideaway in the sky! All you do is rezz the bubble and fly up. There are a ton of modules you can purchase so your hideaway can change with your mood. The footprint is 40x40, 423 prims. I have several of their modules that I use for my photos. I highly recommend them if you are looking for a high quality, pre-built/decorated high away.
