A Tattered Page | The Four Horsemen: DEATH

Good evening everyone! I have another installment of great items you can find at A Tattered Page (ATP). If you are new to ATP, it is a quarterly Second Life Event based on a different book each round. A real book...not a movie! The book is used for inspiration, everyone involved has to read the story and interpret it with their designs/blog posts. The exclusive items designed by the participating designers will be available at their stores and the ATP Library until July 31.

This round is centered around Good Omens: The Nice and Accurate Prophecies of Agnes Nutter, Witch by Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman. The book is a satire of the birth of the son of Satan and the end of the world. It follows the two awkward heroes; Aziraphale (an angel and part-time rare book dealer) and Crowley (an Angel who did not so much Fall as Saunter Vaguely Downwards) as they attempt to stop the eradication of the human race because they have grown rather fond of living among them.

One of the many things I enjoyed about this story the most was the varied characters and the unique interpretation of 'historically' known characters such as the four horsemen. In the story they made them into bikers, and even switched out Conquest for Pollution. Each had their own trademarks that made them very unique.

For this post I thought I would do the same featuring death. I re-wrote his her image. The scenery of these photos are inspired by the following quote from the book.

"MORTALS CAN HOPE FOR DEATH, OR FOR REDEMPTION. YOU CAN HOPE FOR NOTHING. ALL YOU CAN HOPE FOR IS THE MERCY OF HELL."
